Reactivity

D-14 readily hydrolyzes upon contact with moisture.Hydrolyzed with water without catalyst at room temperature. The hydrolysis activity is lower than D-10.

Application

Crosslinker for RTV-1 acetoxy sealant.

D-14 is the main crosslinking agent for RTV-1 acetoxy sealant, which can be used alone or mixed with other acyloxy silanes to achieve the required performance and curing rate. The addition amount of D-14 is approximately 3-5%.

D-14 is usually used alone or mixed with other acidic crosslinking agents, which can provide better tensile strength and better adhesion. If mixed with D-14 and D-12, lower crystallization points can be achieved and higher performance and RTV-1 acetoxy sealant can be obtained.

The preparation process is the same as traditional acidic crosslinking agents. The first step is to mix the polymer with silicone oil for defoaming, followed by the addition of cross-linking agent D-14. After stirring for about 15 minutes, fillers such as gas-phase white carbon black are added, and after dispersion, catalyst D-70 is finally added.
